'The Secret Ingredient' is the most entertaining Thanksgiving Day story I've ever read. Bryl's skill for taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary is amazing. In this case, the ordinary is Thanksgiving Dinner with Tommy's parents. The extraordinary occurs through Tommy's sudden realization about his mother's beloved cranberry sauce.

Tommy's internal dialogue during this whole process was both informative and hilarious. Most impressive of all is the fact that Bryl accomplished all of this in a mere 9 pages! This one may be short and sweet but it's definitely worth reading. It certainly made MY Thanksgiving happier.
